Today the AHC’s new unique PPE Exchange goes live with its first Pilot Program launch to 300 industry organizations.
Over 25 organizations have been involved in the rapid development of this solution that creates a safer, faster and more cost effective PPE Sourcing environment for sourcing that any service of its kind in the U.S.  The exchange can be accessed at www.ppenearme.org.
This solution leverages an “Uber-like” technology that quickly matches PPE buyers and suppliers within minutes instead of days,
The current pilot is open to industry and government users seeking to purchase PPE supplies.
In the near future, this PPE Exchange will be leveraged to source any resource quickly including commercial generators, fuel distributors, dry ice, commercial facilities, almost any emergency resource that could be needed when local supplies are gone as typically happens during a big disaster.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Nasal High Flow Therapy – WHO & NIH Recommended for the COVID-19 patient

Fisher and Paykel Healthcare is a global leader in the manufacture of Heated Wire Ventilator Circuits and Nasal High Flow Therapy devices.  As the COVID-19 pandemic has developed, nasal high flow (also HFNC, HFOT, high flow etc.) has increasingly become relied on as an early intervention for escalating patients.  Nationally, the medical community are deploying Nasal High Flow therapy intentionally to reduce the risk of intubation and  improve overall patient outcomes within the hospitalized COVID-19 patient population.  This evolving practice is recommended by the WHO and NIH for the treatment of COVID patients and recent observational studies have demonstrated 50-70% avoidance in mechanical ventilation and a decreased length of hospital stay.

A number of states and agencies have been in contact with Fisher and Paykel Healthcare about its products for potential stockpiles. Should any state or agency have an interest in procuring nasal high flow devices in the coming months, the team at Fisher & Paykel would welcome a discussion to ensure it is best placed to provide the State with access to product in a timely manner to treat patients. As Nasal High Flow is a relatively new therapy, Fisher & Paykel is also conscious of ensuring that the relevant clinical advisors are briefed on the requirements for delivering the therapy effectively.   All Fisher & Paykel medical devices and associated disposables are FDA approved.

Statewide Emergency Vendor List

The Emergency Vendor List includes vendors used by the Va. Dept. of Emergency Management (VDEM) and Va. Dept. of General Services – Division of Purchases & Supply (DPS) during a “state of public emergency”.  The list may be utilized to quickly obtain supplies and services to provide assistance to those in need.

Several vendors have been awarded contracts and the information can be found within the spreadsheet. For vendors that do not currently have a contract, use the list as a source of supply and procure in accordance with the Agency Procurement and Surplus Property Manual, Chapter 9 Emergency Procurement.

DPS does not endorse nor suggest any vendor appearing on the emergency vendor lists.  Agencies are required to conduct their own due diligence prior to procuring from any vendor listed.
