ABLS – Adv Burn Life Support

The Central Virginia Healthcare Coalition has partnered with VCU Health to offer Advanced Burn Life Support training on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2019 at VCU Medical Center – Evans-Haynes Burn Center – Critical Care Hospital, 8th floor. Visitor parking is located at 550 N 12th St, Richmond, VA 23298.
The course is funded by CVHC through the Healthcare Preparedness Program (HPP) grant and free for providers to attend. Please apply to register for the course using the form below. The course is capped at 30 attendees, and a staff member will be in touch to confirm your registration. Registration priority will be given to acute care hospital providers and emergency medical services.
Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) programs provide knowledge for immediate care of the burn patient up to the first 24-hours post injury. ABLS programs also support emergency preparedness and mass casualty incidents focusing on triage, burn survivability, prioritizing transport of patients and patient treatment.
The audience for the ABLS program is anyone who may come into early contact with a burn injury. This includes fire fighters, EMTs, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapists, emergency physicians and nurses, pediatricians and pediatric nurses, first responders, and military personnel.
