REI Systems and John Hopkins University invite you to a Government Analytics Breakfast to hear from keynote speaker, Seong Kim, FEMA’s EDAMI Program Director. Join us and find out how modernization efforts and data and analytics support FEMA’s workforce including centralizing data to better aid disaster operations.

In 2020 the United States experienced a record-smashing 22 weather or climate disasters that each resulted in at least $1 billion in damages, according to NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI).  The data is clear, the frequency of natural & concurrent disasters is increasing, but the question remains, how do we better plan for the impacts of these impending disasters? Post-disaster, it is critical to estimate and assess the damage correctly to support response and recovery efforts.

Attendees will walk away with a better understanding on:

  • How FEMA is modernizing its analytics to improve cross-agency business intelligence
  • How FEMA uses analytics to inform decisions throughout the entire lifecycle of a disaster
  • Utilizing data to better embrace and understand diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within FEMA programs
  • How the public sector is making strides to strengthen and bring efficiencies with industry tools and best practices into the federal space
