Webinar: Securing the Health Sector: Patient-Generated Violence

Please join ASPR for the 7th installment of the “Securing the Health Sector” webinar series, hosted jointly by InfraGard National Capital Region (InfraGardNCR), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

This week’s offering, “Securing the Health Sector: Patient-Generated Violence,” will give an overview of violence in healthcare. The presenters are seasoned healthcare security executives who will describe what kinds of workplace violence occur in healthcare settings and why. They’ll address specifically what’s being done to combat patient-generated violence, including legislative remedies. They’ll offer specific techniques and strategies for mitigating and preventing violence in a healthcare setting, including the importance design plays in the care environment.

Our Speakers are:

  • Eric Clay, chief security officer for CoxHealth, a healthcare system headquartered in Springfield, Missouri. Eric has 30+ years of law enforcement experience.  He serves on the Missouri Governor’s Homeland Security Advisory Council, the IAHSS Education Council, and the ASIS Healthcare Security Council.
  • Tony York, past president and board chair of IAHSS, frequent lecturer on healthcare security and leadership, and co-author of Hospital and Healthcare Security, widely considered to be the definitive book on hospital security.
